Also, "Get the Goal" seems to have become a national team song...
The header was quality too, hey. Half his goals this year must have come from his head.
And yeah, I had a huge grin on my face hearing fans of all teams singing Get the Goal for our Okachan. I bet the Hong Kong game being at Nihondaira played no small part in making sure that chant caught on. :)
does anyone else feel miffed that among the goalscorers, only 1 wasn't interviewed and that was the top scorer for the day?
There certainly seemed a lot more hype around Morimoto than anyone else. His one goal got a lot more attention than the fact Okazaki got six in less than two games.
somehow, i feel that the coach is not looking at Okazaki as his number 1 forward reason being that he was used against lesser opposition (Hong Kong and Togo) instead of Scotland. I could be wrong, but we shall see where it goes from here. On another note, I just imported my first ever Shimizu S-Pulse jersey today. :D
Actually, I think the team they put out against Scotland was the weaker of the three. I think Okazaki will be very unlucky to not be named in the World Cup squad later in the year, and I think he'll be an important starting member once there.
Good news on the S-Pulse shirt! I know it's not always easy buying from abroad. Knowing that the bright orange is being worn all around the world is awesome. :)
